Lorena is interested in uncovering the diverse impacts of human activities on biodiversity loss and climate change. Furthermore, I am interested in using these insights to support the implementation of efficient nature-positive solutions. To do so, I use a variety of methodologies such as Life-Cycle Impact Assessments and literature reviews. My broader interests lie at the intersection of biological and social sciences, and I would like for my research to inform transformative and impactful changes for people and nature.
Lorena cooperate with academics and the private sector to develop innovative methodologies which she uses to assess the impact of businesses, institutions and other organisations on biodiversity and nature. Specifically, Lorena translates activity data into specific, comprehensive and quantifiable environmental impacts, which are the basis to estimate an overall biodiversity footprint. She uses these insights to promote a Nature Positive future for organisations using a mitigation hierarchy framework.
Lorena completed a Master of Philosophy in Development Studies at the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor (Hons) of Science in Biodiversity, Conservation and Biology at McGill University.
