My doctoral project focuses on operationalizing ecological reparations to mitigate and compensate for biodiversity loss. I am particularly interested in working at the interface of environmental justice, conservation, and economics, such as the design of socially just biodiversity finance mechanisms. Drawing from my diverse background in renewable energy consulting, non-profit works, and university sustainability initiatives, I bring practical experience in navigating institutional sustainability and environmental policy landscapes. I earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in environmental sciences from the University of Tokyo, where I studied the ecological impacts of solar power plants and the feasibility of biodiversity offsets policy adoption in Japan.
